Film picks up ninth festival award nomination

"In A Quiet Room" has been nominated for "Best Drama" by the 2026 Oregon Short Film Festival!
Winners will be announced at the festival on Jan. 18 in Portland.
The nomination marks the film's ninth during its festival tour. It has picked up four wins, including "Best Lead Performance" and "Best Actor" by lead actor KarenCarlson, "Best Georgia Filmmaker" by writer/director James Faucett, and "Best Narrative Short."
"This film is a wonderful exploration of human connection and emotion," a festival judge said.
Another praised the cast's "outstanding" performances, noting Carlson's "emotional honesty and subtle intensity, grounding the film and giving it a compelling sense of depth."
"It's especially rewarding to be honored with this nomination at what will be the film's last festival appearance, at the iconic Clinton Street Theater," Faucett said. "I can't thank festival organizers enough for acknowledging yet again the hard work of such a talented cast and crew."
