Karen Carlson has won “Best Actor” for her role in “In A Quiet Room” at the 2024 Georgia Shorts Film Festival!

Winners were announced April 14 at an awards ceremony that took place at the conclusion of the festival, which marked the film’s premiere.

“Filming ‘In A Quiet Room’ was a wonderful experience, supported by an amazing young crew and experienced actors,” Karen said. “And working with James as the writer and director created an ongoing friendship and, hopefully, future collaborations. This was a ‘team experience’ and end result.”

Karen also expressed gratitude to the festival organizers for the honor.

“Thank you for all of the time, behind-the-scenes work, and appreciation that all of you put into the Georgia Shorts Film Festival, to both encourage and validate all filmmakers,” Karen said.
